Students of the training direction "Zootechny" at a practical lesson on the topic: "The current state and prospects for the development of goat breeding. Technology of production of goat products” tasted goat milk products.
First, future livestock specialists attended a lecture by Svetlana Novopashina, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Secretary of the Industrial Goat Breeding Association. The listeners learned that in recent years, domestic entrepreneurs have shown great interest in dairy goat breeding, but there is a catastrophic shortage of specialized livestock specialists, veterinarians who want to work in this industry, so the goal of the lesson is to attract young specialists to work in goat breeding industries.
After the lecture, the students were able to taste goat's milk themselves, as well as products made from it: kefir, fermented baked milk, yoghurts, 4 types of soft and 3 hard cheeses of the Nadezhdinsky goat dairy complex in the Stavropol Territory.
Also, a survey was conducted among 20 students, teachers and researchers and found out:
– 5 people have previously consumed and will continue to consume this product
– 7 people know general information about goat milk products
– 2 people did not consume, but will consume in the future
– 2 people will not consume goat products, because, in principle, they do not consume dairy products
– 2 people expressed their dissenting opinion that the goat food products presented for tasting are “very tasty, high quality and healthy”
– 1 person expressed the opinion that goat milk has a very pleasant smell and taste, which contradicts the prevailing stereotype about the specific smell and unpleasant taste of goat milk
According to one of the students, it was during the class that she first thought about working in this field. She saw prospects for the development of domestic goat breeding, because everyone noted the taste, benefits and quality of products.
