Students of the Faculty of Economics of Stavropol State Agrarian University, specializing in “State and Municipal Management”, took part in the event “Corridors of Power” in the Stavropol City Duma.
The meeting was organized by the deputy chairman of the Stavropol City Duma, member of the committee on legality, local self-government and development of civil society Kurylenko Alexander Ivanovich.
The event included a lecture-excursion on the topic “How to participate in city management”, during which students visited the meeting room of the Stavropol City Duma. Future economists learned about the activities of local governments of the regional capital and their competencies.
— For citizens, power should not be something far and unattainable. Power should be as open as possible. As a deputy, I adhere to this principle. One of the ways of communication is a meeting with students of the city of Stavropol. We do not just communicate, I talk about the structure of local governments, how the Stavropol City Duma works, how decisions are made, how every resident of Stavropol can take a personal part in the management of the city, - he said.
