The Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education of StSAU celebrates the anniversary

The youngest faculty of the university is 5 years old.

The Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education (SVE) began its work in 2018, and for 5 years specialists of working professions have been educated here: programmers, agronomists, livestock specialists.

Today, more than 2 thousand students study at the faculty, almost a fifth of whom have chosen a new format of education - the federal program "Professionalism". Its participants for 2-3 are trained with practice in the production of the region.

- The Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education today has tremendous development dynamics. Now more than 2,200 students study here, and we will increase enrollment. We were looking for a training model that would allow us to prepare a highly qualified professional. In my understanding, as a rector, we found it. It is in close cooperation with the leaders of agricultural enterprises and farmers that the university should be at the forefront. I want to tell the guys that I also started my career in production, with the profession of an agronomist. Now you are getting the basis of your labor knowledge, and it is this foundation that will allow you to build new competencies and be perfect professionals in your field,” said the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Sitnikov.

— In 2018, we recruited 290 students in 9 specialties. With us, 11 largest employers entered the cluster, and we do not stop, because our main goal is the percentage of employment of graduates in their specialty. We won the "Professionality", in December we bought new equipment, opened workshops. We create a holiday for ourselves and step by step go to these days and accomplishments, - said Oksana Gavrilova, Dean of the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education.

One of the important vectors for the development of the faculty is the championship "Professionals". The main mission of the movement is to develop professional skills, increase the prestige of highly qualified personnel, and demonstrate the importance of competencies for economic growth and personal success. Students participating in the "Professionals" gain practical experience, new knowledge and rewards in the piggy bank. This year, our students took part in 10 competencies, 3 people in each. Of these, 7 gold medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze.

— Secondary vocational education is the answer to the challenge that today's youth have. Our young people want to be independent as soon as possible, and secondary vocational education makes it possible to get a stable job as soon as possible, - said Elena Maklina, head of the Center for Supporting Programs for the Development of Regional SVE Systems of the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education.

After studying at the faculty of secondary vocational education, students with a certain set of skills can continue to improve their knowledge at a bachelor's or specialist's degree, choose a related profession or expand their professional horizons.
