POSTGRADUATE STUDY

Preparation of scientific and scientific pedagogical high skilled teaching staff at Stavropol State Agrarian University is carried out on 35 specialities of postgraduate study and 6 specialities of doctoral studies (according to the Federal law “About the higher and post graduate vocational training” № 125-FZ from 22.08.96, Provision about preparation of scientific and pedagogical scientific teaching staff in system of post graduate vocational training in the Russian Federation, confirmed by the Order of Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated 27.03.98 № 814) (with amendments dated 17 February, 2004) through training in internal and correspondence postgraduate study, doctoral studies, and also in the form of competition.

Entrance to postgraduate study is defined by estimated figures of Department of a scientifically-technological policy and education of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation which directly depends on efficiency of its work.

For last five years, the university has let out 332 candidates and 34 doctors of sciences. Among graduates of department of postgraduate study there are also the former students, wished to pursue science, and those who, having a work wide experience on manufacture, has decided to prove and introduce scientifically in practice their own workings out. They are politicians, heads, experts of various branches of a national economy, teachers of educational institutions, workers of commercial and state banks.

Today there are 308 persons in postgraduate studies (including 186 of full time postgraduate studies), 6 people are in doctoral studies. Competitors of a scientific degree of the candidate and the doctor of sciences amounts to 72 persons.

ADMISSION RULES IN POSTGRADUATE STUDY

for full time and correspondence postgraduate studies

In postgraduate study on a competitive basis the persons that have higher vocational training are accepted.

Acceptance is arranged annually from 1st June, till 30th June.

Arriving in postgraduate study pass interview with the prospective supervisor of studies.

Entrance examinations on specialty, philosophy and a foreign language are held from 1st June, till 30th June according to state standards of higher vocational training.

The people who have passed candidate examinations, are released from corresponding entrance examinations.

Documents are accepted since 1st August.

The period of training in internal postgraduate study is 3 years, in correspondence postgraduate study it is 4 years.

People that entered full time postgraduate study are paid the grant from the date of transfer, but not earlier than day of dismissal from the previous place of work.

For candidate of science scientific degree competition

Candidate of science scientific degree competitors have the higher vocational training.

The attachment of competitors for preparation and passing of candidate examinations is made for the period of no more than 2 years and for preparation of the master's thesis for the period of no more than 3 years.

Application addressed to the rector with the following documents is given for entrance to postgraduate study:

• application addressed to the rector;

• copies of the diploma of the state sample about the higher vocational training and appendices to it, assured by the notary;

• a personal leaf on registration of personnel with a photo, assured in a work place;

• copies of the work record card assured in a place of work;

• 3 photos (3х4 sm, black-and-white);

• autobiographies;

• characteristics from a study or work place;

• the list and copies of the published scientific works;

• certificates of delivery of candidate examinations in the presence of the handed over candidate examinations.

The general period of training of the competitor is 5 years.
