Pupils of Caucasian Mineral Waters fought in a tournament of financial literacy

Under the auspices of the Regional Centre for Financial Literacy on the basis of school №1 of Pyatigorsk on October 11 there was held an interscholastic team tournament on the educational board game "Money cannot buy happiness" among pupils of Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk and Mineral Waters.

The moderators of the game were students from the intercollegiate volunteer group "Finansist". The direct organizers of such a useful event were staff of the Department of Financial Management and Banking and the Institute of additional professional training of Stavropol State Agrarian University.

Board game itself was created by "KAK project" within the project "Promotion of population financial literacy and financial education in the Russian Federation". The game features a level of development of financial services - deposits, loans, insurance.

The aim of the organizers of the tournament was to attract pupils’ interest to matters of personal financial planning, to allow them to influence the course of events and manage the financial decisions of the characters: choose a job, change it, get additional education, to travel, to buy things, do pension funds.

In total, the event was attended by 72 players. Hard and too adult, at first glance, the theme turned out to be so interesting to children, even after the completion of the tournament, they continued to discuss the possible course of events. According to the opinion of the children, the tournament has become not only fun for them, but also training how to become a financially independent and successful man.

Now that the rules have already been developed, the children can themselves act as moderators in the new competitions and motivate their peers to financial planning. To this purpose the tournament organizers gave the participants in the use some board games kits "Money cannot buy happiness" for the competition in each city.
