The delegation of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, led by the Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Duma of the Stavropol Territory, V. I. Truhachev, took part in the exposition of the region "Stavropol - the land of golden hearts!", Which unfolded in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
From 11 to 15 September in Moscow are held the Days of the Stavropol Territory. For the Russian parliamentarians, an exhibition is presented consisting of thematic sections that familiarize the Stavropol region with the potential of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, the opportunities and achievements of the region in tourism, agriculture, industry, the social sphere, and culture.
Hundreds of guests who already on the first day visited the exposition of the region could also learn about the achievements in science and educational activities of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, the oldest in the South of Russia and one of the most innovative universities in the country.
The Stavropol State Agrarian University, which has a great scientific potential and is the "forge of personnel" for the agricultural sector, contributes to the social and economic development of the region and is rightfully considered the brand of the Stavropol region. Commenting on the significant event in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, it is worth noting that the Agrarian University has organically blended into the presented exposition, reflecting the multifaceted portrait of our region, which has rich opportunities of the regional agro-industrial complex.
Among the significant achievements of the university, for example, his participation in large-scale projects in the field of dairy and beef cattle breeding.
This is the creation of a new highly productive specialized type of "Dmitrievsky" beef cattle of Hereford breed - marble domestic beef. Thanks to this, only 528 breeding animals have been delivered in 11 regions of the country for the current year, which will subsequently give meat raw materials for premium extra-class products. Scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University developed an effective system for the management of animal genetic resources at the regional level, which is extremely relevant and will be in demand throughout the country. Due to the constant monitoring of the quality of milk (in particular, by the level of somatic cells), the milk indicators in the six leading breeding farms of the Stavropol Territory approximated to European standards! Another large-scale science-intensive project conducted by researchers of the Stavropol State Agrarian University concerns the development of biotechnological methods of genomic selection when creating new breeds and types of highly productive animals. And this is not the whole list of unique achievements of an innovative agricultural university.
On September 13, in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the region was represented by the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov and the deputy chairman of the regional government, overseeing the economic bloc, Andrei Murga. Among the visitors of the exhibition, which unfolded in the lower house of the Russian parliament, were the leaders of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, members of the Federation Council and the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as leaders of party factions. Guests welcomed the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Peter Tolstoy, deputies Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Gennady Zyuganov, Sergei Mironov, Adalbi Shkhagoshev, Minister of Agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev. And for the generation of future agrarians, which number 18.5 thousand people, it is extremely important to finish and put into operation a new academic university building, which will significantly expand the educational opportunities of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
