It is confirmed by the growth of the production turnover of the Laboratory of Breeding Quality Control of Milk and Control-Assistant Service of the Center for Management of Highly Efficient Livestock Genetic Resources, where teachers and students of the Faculty of Technological Management actively participate.
Taking into account the practical experience in carrying out breeding work, the scientists of SSAU are actively involved in the professional discussion of innovations in cattle breeding in the Russian Federation. So, on the agenda of the next round table, in the work of which the professors Sergei Alexandrovich Oleinik and Nikolai Z. Zlydnev took part in the videoconference with the use of the special program "VCS-client", the topical issues of reforming the breeding livestock in Russia were taken up. The organizer of this round table was the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on Agroindustrial Complex and Rural Development under the chairmanship of Evgenia Yurievna Uvarkina.
Participants focused on the following issues:
- Discussion of veterinary rules for identification and registration of animals on the territory of the Russian Federation;
- Analysis of the process of assigning the status of a pedigree animal that is held by citizens and legal entities carrying out activities in the field of a breeding animal in foreign countries;
- Draft roadmap for the development of the system of pedigree cattle breeding;
- Discussion of the electronic register of breeding animals project.
In his speech, Professor Sergey Oleinik stressed that when approving veterinary rules for the identification and recording of animals, it is necessary to unify the national requirements with an international methodology approved by the International Committee for Registration of Animals ICAR. In the future it will help to become a full participant of international trade in genetic resources and materials in dairy cattle.
The participants of the round table were informed about the initiative of the scientists of Stavropol SAU - the development of a new version of the Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation concerning the Rules for Evaluation of Milk Productivity of Milk and Milk Meat Cows. Proposals of the Stavropol State Agrarian University on introducing changes to the Roadmap for the implementation of measures aimed at the development of the breeding base of domestic livestock breeding were supported by E.Yu.
