Interregional Forum of Russian Popular Front started in SSAU

Not once the SSAU became a platform for international, all-Russian, regional events of different size and grade.

Today the university became the epicenter of social and political life of the South of Russia. The university opened a two-day regional forum of Russian Popular Front.

In the conference halls, the congress hall, classrooms of multimedia educational units of the University more than 600 civil society activists from the southern regions of the country, federal and regional experts of the Popular Front, State Duma deputies, representatives of the executive branch of the 13 regions of Russia met. Among the participants were co-chairmen of the Central Staff of the Popular Front Stanislav Govorukhin, Alexandra Brechalova, Olga Timofeeva, and Minister for the North Caucasus affairs Lev Kuznetsov, Head of the Federal Agency for the Affairs of Nationalities Igor Barinov, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, Co-Chairs of the regional headquarters of the Popular Front and many others. More than one hundred media representatives publicize the event.

In the two halls of the University within the Forum an exhibition of major projects was opened: «For fair purchase», «For the rights of borrowers», «Let us estimate road quality!», Center «National examination», Centre for Ecology and the protection of forests, Center of legal support to journalists, Center for monitoring the quality and accessibility of health.

Forum began its work with a public debate on five areas: «Society and authority: a direct dialogue», «Education and culture as the basis of the national identity», «The quality of everyday life», «Fair and efficient economy», «Social justice». The participants of the forum discussed the performance of «May decrees» and orders of the President. The activists of the Popular Front, in particular, raised questions about the fight against corruption, access to preschool education and health, solving problems in the housing sector, road infrastructure. As a result of thematic platforms «Map of regional problems» will be made up.

Within the Forum training courses and plenary session will be held tomorrow.
