Employees and students of SSAU shared with their fellow citizens the joy and sorrow of the Victory Day

Joy and sorrow of 71st Victory Day - the national holiday celebrated "with tears in the eyes", was shared by the teachers, graduate students and students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University who took part in the procession of thousands of Stavropol citizens. The procession came from the main square of the regional centre to the "Eternal Fire of Glory" memorial on Fortress Hill. Many university representatives also took part in the All-Russian national action "The Immortal regiment".

Parade in honor of the Great Patriotic War winners crowned with glory, in memory of the unprecedented feat of multinational people of our great country survived in the years of hardest trials, becomes one of the central events in the life of every member of the Agrarian University every year.

The main SSAU building keeps the memory of Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. There a military hospital was located. The enemy bomb destroyed the upper floors considerably, but thoroughly crafted walls resisted. Traces of red paint, marking the place of old damage are not washed away from them especially till this day.

More than 150 teachers and students of the Agrarian University did not return from the battlefields. The granite stele with the names of the dead established in their memory in the territory of the university.

The current generation of future agrarians honor their veterans faithfully. The eminent rector, Duma Deputy of Stavropol Territory, Professor V.Truhachev stressed during the memorable meeting in the university: «We do not have other people's veterans. All veterans of Stavropol are close to us irrespective of anything».
