In the 50,000th column of the "Immortal Regiment"

On May 9, the staff and students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University took part in the key event of the holiday - the thousands-strong procession marking the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

With the portraits of the colleges of the University and their relatives and friends who participated in the Great Patriotic War, today's teachers and students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University walked on this sacred holiday from the main Lenin Square of the regional center to the memorial "Fire of Eternal Glory", where they laid flowers.

It should be noted that in 2017 the column of the "Immortal Regiment" as the most important part of the holiday became the most mass in the history of the movement in the Stavropol Territory. Despite the heavy rain and wind, about 50 thousand townspeople took part in an unprecedented memorable event!

In a different way, it could not be, because the path to our common Victory was so long and hard. During the war in the battles with the enemy only Stavropolians were killed more than 160 thousand. Losses among the civilian population of the region as a result of the fascist occupation exceeded 30 thousand people. And the whole country lost 27 million Soviet citizens of different ages - from young children to the elderly.

I pay deepest gratitude to the courageous soldiers who fulfilled their duty to the Motherland honorably: those who returned home and are alive now, and those who did not live to see the great Victory Day, and those who left just recently. You will forever remain in the memory of all our people a heroic generation of Winners!
