Stavropol State Agrarian University held a round table on the topic "Introduction of cultivation technologies on the farms of Stavropol territory", which was attended by distance learning bachelors of "Agronomics" direction.

Cotton - an unusual, amazing culture. More than 200 kinds of products are made from the plant. Cotton raw material is used in the defense, medical, textile, aviation and electrical industries. In 30-50 years of the last century, in Stavropol region under this crop was given almost 150 thousand hectares. Gross harvest of cotton reached 60 thousand tons per year. On the basis of Prikumskaya experimental station in those years operated successfully Institute of nonirrigated cotton growing. Stavropol experience was closely followed by academician Nikolai Vavilov. In 1955, due to the low profitability of Stavropol region have ceased to engage in cotton growing. In recent years, the cultivation of drought resistant and stress culture, which is cotton in the region attach great importance. Students discussed the methods of obtaining high and stable yields of cotton fiber by using agronomic characteristics of culture and modern technology of cotton cultivation . Also at the round table was raised the topic of advanced technologies for growing potatoes and garlic on the example of "Urozhainoe" Novoalexandrovsky region. Students summarized the results of the round table, determining that the cultivation technology of agricultural crops is a set of methods aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for the growth and development of plants that depend on material resources sector, its economic efficiency and production experience.
