Social entrepreneurship is a school of indifferent attitude to the problems of society

In order to study the production experience, students of the Faculty of Economics of STGAU visited the enterprise "Svet", which is subordinate to the Stavropol Regional Public Organization of the All-Russian Society of the Blind.

With active participation of the regional entrepreneurship support fund, together with the teachers of the Department of Entrepreneurship and the World Economy Gracheva D. O. and Orel Yu.V., students of the direction 38.03.01 "Economics" (profile "World Economy"), continue to get acquainted with the work Stavropol enterprises. This time, future economists visited LLC «SPP Svet».

Formed in 1929, the enterprise passed several stages of development from the stage of formation and intensive growth, when the number of employees reached 360 people, to the "transition" period of the early 1990s, when the whole country was accustomed to the "market mechanism".

Today, the number of employees of LLC "SPP Svet" is only 37 people, 21 of them are visually impaired. Unfortunately, the company's capabilities cover only a small fraction of the need for real workplaces for people with disabilities in the regional center. To improve the current situation, not only sufficient funding is needed, but also the introduction of viable entrepreneurial ideas that allow a social enterprise to compete in the market among other business participants. This was told by the general director of LLC «SPP Svet» Alexei Petrovich Bolelov is a person with disabilities (visually impaired), but with unlimited will, great enthusiasm and organizational talent.

Under his leadership, LLC "SPP Svet" for the second year in a row wins a grant from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Stavropol Territory "Affordable Environment", aimed at the development of social entrepreneurship. In early 2017, the grants received were used to purchase equipment and raw materials for the production of disposable shoe covers. The production has already been launched, but the issues of sales activities are not completely resolved. To solve them, it is necessary to search for and implement original entrepreneurial ideas on further product promotion.

Acquaintance with the experience of "SPP Svet" LLC for students of the Stavropol State University became not only a vivid example of such an important direction for our country as social entrepreneurship, but also a school of indifferent attitude to the problems of society.
