"Admission" to profession
In Stavropol State Agrarian University at the Faculty of Farm Mechanization there was a solemn presentation of diplomas to students of 6th year of correspondence courses on "Mechanization of agriculture". Dean of the Faculty, Professor Anatoly T. Lebedev said: "This is the 61th graduation of Mechanical Engineers, and it is unusual because it coincided with two anniversaries: the 65th anniversary of the faculty and the 85th anniversary of our high school. In 1950, the Order of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR announced first enrollment of students in Stavropol Agricultural Institute on specialty "Mechanization of agriculture". That year there were 75 freshmen. Since then, the department has trained over 12 thousand specialists. And now the ranks of professional engineers added 45 graduates." Their employment is very diverse: among them there are farmers, private entrepreneurs, military, but most lyengineers. It is encouraging to note that 29 graduates (64%) are already working on specialty at the enterprises of agroindustrial complex not only in our region but also in other regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal District. The Faculty is proud of its graduates.
Addressing the graduates, vice-rector for academic and educational work Ivan V. Atanov said: "... I have always deeply respected engineers in general, and especially the graduates of the Faculty of Farm Mechanization of our institution considering that they are working on the cutting edge of scientific and technological progress of the industry. All of you, dear graduates, successfully mastered the 60 disciplines of the state educational standard, mastered methods of comprehensive mechanization of production processes, have learned to use to calculate the cost-effectiveness of new means of mechanization and successfully completed the final examination."
Chairman of the State Certification Commission, Head of the Chair of processes and machines in agribusiness of Kuban State Agrarian University, Doctor of Technical Sciences Evgeny Trubilin, in particular, noted that the themes of the graduation projects aimed at improving the processes and structure of working bodies, improving the use of machines and tractors, developing the improvement of the organization of repair of machinery and equipment. A diploma project has shown that the teaching staff of the Faculty of Farm mechanization successfully solves the problem of training for agricultural production in the country. Appreciation was given to projects aimed at solving real problems in relation to agricultural enterprises, organizations related to the development of new techniques and technologies, modernization of equipment and others.
State Examination Board noted a number of theses, which are characterized by depth and originality of the conducted research and engineering development.
12 graduation projects are made at the request of enterprises and 12 graduation projects are recommended for implementation in production! This is another evidence that graduates of SSAU perfectly own theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
