The opening of new sports ground –is start to new sports records among StSAU students!
Today, 9 November, there was a significant event in the sporting life of the Stavropol State Agrarian University: opening of a new universal playground with three game areas for volleyball, street ball and badminton.
The opening ceremony of the sports facility was attended by the Governor of Stavropol Krai V.V. Vladimirov, the Rector of StSAU, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.I. Trukhachev, Chairman of Olympic Council of Stavropol Krai E.V. Bondarenko, Minister of physical culture and sport of the Stavropol region, the champion of the Olympic Games in Sydney, I.V.Lavrov, Olympic champion in Atlanta, A.I. Chemerkin.
In his welcoming speech the Governor of Stavropolsky Krai Vladimir Vladimirov said that the opening of the Stavropol State Agrarian University of a new modern sports facility is natural phenomenon in series of events of the 85-year history of the SSA University, headed by V.I. Trukhachev, continues the good tradition and keeps pace with the times. Today's sports ground, which was made for students, is honorary, important thing. In addition to academic achievements, academic excellence, creativity, KVN- movement, should be and sporting successes and should be Olympic champions, "said the Head of the region.
The Rector V.I. Trukhachev, addressed to students and wished them health, beauty, courage, and never forget that "The Graduate of the University always sounds proudly!"
Special guests talked about sustained development of sports in the Agrarian University, and University Rector attention to the formation of modern sports base, its readiness to implement the best, advanced, modern things. In September this year, in the days of the anniversary of StSAU, on its territory was opened the first walkout platform that meets all world standards. And now students have another playground. Its total area is 242 sq.m.
This sports facility in conjunction with the previously opened walkout-platform completes multifunctional outdoor sports complex. Exceptional design of red coating platform allows holding competitions at various levels, from national to international. The decision on the construction of venues was taken at the meeting of V.I. Trukhachev with sports activists from the University.
Student of 4 course from faculty microbiology and land resources, Chairman of the students ' sports club "Kolos", Member of the University's volleyball team Nikita Novochihin, on behalf of the athletes expressed words of gratitude addressed to the Governor of the Stavropol region V.V. Vladimirov and Rector of StSAU V.I. Truhachev and assured in new sports victories.
The University has 26 sports sections with more than 3500 students. In 2010, 2012 years FEDERAL HPE Stavropol SAU was the winner of the "healthy lifestyle" among universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
At the celebration of the opening of the universal playground vocal group "Joys" showed the performance and the master-classes of volleyball and basketball teams of the University passed.
