SSAU - an active participant of the project "Healthy Cities"

Today, an international scientific-practical conference "Healthy Cities in Crisis: New Challenges - New Opportunities", held in the framework of the project "Healthy Cities" is completed in Stavropol. SSAU staff and students actively participated in the conference "Healthy Cities in Crisis: New Challenges - New Opportunities". In the section "Healthy Life", they presented the projects of scientists of the University: "Development and implementation of new technologies in food production based on sugar substitutes of vegetable origin" (project leader: Professor V.I.Truhachev) and "Prevention of bad habits among the students" (projecmManager: Associate Professor I.V.Atanov).

For two days, leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of health savings discussed the development of the territories in a difficult economic situation. Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Stavropol Territory Olga Prudnikov noted that the project of the World Health Organization's "Healthy Cities" aims to improve the health and quality of life, to achieve physical, mental and social well-being of urban and rural settlements. In recent decades there has been a major shift in the understanding of health and its importance for the development of society. Today, health is increasingly recognized as a major driving force and resource for social and economic development; not only physicians, but politicians say about the way of improving the health. Public attitudes is also changing: health is increasingly linked with success, opportunity, responsibility in people's minds. All new spheres of life are involved in health issues.

The participants, organizers and guests of the conference received greeting telegram from the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, noted the role of such sites in the implementation of public policies in matters of health protection and promotion.

The program of the second day of the conference, in addition to lectures by experts of the World Health Organization, was to visit the social facilities of the city.
