Weight-lifters of SSAU won the Cup of Stavropol Krai

Pupils of the trainer Evgeny Nesmiyanov didn't leave chances to rivals in a Cup of Stavropol Krai on weightlifting which passed in the homeland of the Olympic champion Andrey Chemerkin in Solnechnodolsk.

7 teams and 97 athletes participated in competitions. Besides a victory in team championship, weight-lifters of SSAU showed great skills in individual competition. First place in weight category of 85 kg was won by the student 2 courses of faculty of ecology and landscaping Danila Kalashnikov, in weight category over 105 kg – the student 4 courses of electrical power faculty Evgeny Pashchenko. 4 courses of faculty of welfare service and tourism Ivan Chemerkin (weight category of 105 kg) and the student 4 courses of faculty of veterinary medicine Ilya Baranov rose by the second step of a pedestal of competitions the student (weight category over 105 kg).

Weightlifting not simply Olympic sport which cornerstone performance of exercises on a bar raising over the head is, its history began with competitions in a raising of weights in far times. Athletes were especially esteemed in Ancient Egypt, Ancient China and Ancient Greece.

Weight-lifters of SSAU are faithful to sports traditions of university which were put in the 90th years of the last century when students of agricultural institute won tournaments of the All-Russian and international rank.

The hall of weightlifting opened after reconstruction in 2007 is a unique specialized platform where all nuances for occupation of athletes are provided. The created conditions allow athletes of SSAU to prepare for competitions to what their today's victories testify thoroughly.
