In the sports orbit: basketball and chess

Cheering sports news: the victory of basketball team of SSAU and success of lecturers - fans of chess games.

In the University sports complex the regional basketball Championship among men's teams was held. 19 of February the team of SSAU won team “Rus” by margin of 16 points (score 73:57).

Chess tournament Ladder XVII Olympics of University staff was held on February 21. Team rating of agrarian chess-players are as follows:

- The leader is the team of Technology Management and Veterinary medicine faculty;

- "silver" is the team of Agricultural Engineering faculty;

- "Bronze" – is the Faculty of Economics.

Electric-energy, Agrobiology and Land Resources Ecology and Landscape architecture, Socio-cultural Service and Tourism, Financial- Accounting faculties took 4-th, 5-th, 6-th and 7-th places.

In the individual championship among women, Elena Alexandrovna Kitz (team of Technology Management and Veterinary medicine faculties) had the lead. Karina Yurievna Mikhailova (Socio-cultural Service and Tourism faculty) came in a close second. Nina Ctefanovna Chukhlebova (Agrobiology and Land Resources faculty) took third place.

The winner of chess in the men’s individual championship became veteran lecturer of the University, of Agricultural Engineering faculty Julius Matveevich Shapran!

We remind that Julius Matveevich Shapran, candidate master of chess, was multiple chess champion of the Stavropol Region. "Silver" has got the player of Electric-energy Faculty - Anatoly Georgievich Molchanov. "Bronze" - Svyatoslav Sergeyevich Serikov, the team of Faculty of Economics.
