The Champions of the International Vavilov Olympiad

The team of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, composed of the students of the Agrobiology and Land Resourses Faculty Sheykina Vera and Alexei Zhelezniak and the Ecology and Landscape A rchitecture Maxim Zhebrikova took the 1st place in the team event.

Olympics took place in the Saratov State Agrarian University named after NI Vavilov and was dedicated to the 128-th anniversary of the outstanding scientist. This year, teams from Kazakhstan, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Voronezh, Vyatka, Moscow, Volgograd, Stavropol, Chuvashia arrived to Saratov. The competition was attended by 14 universities.

The captain of our team Maxim Zhebrikov distinguished in the captain competition and was awarded the second degree diploma.

Vavilov International Olympiad is held every year. Intellectual competitions are held in the form of written and oral assignments on topics related to the biography N.I. Vavilov and his family, the major scientific works of academician - their essence and value, present value of the research heritage of the scientist. Our students, commenting on its successful performance, said it was important for them to follow the precepts of N.I. Vavilov: always go forward, to evolve, to seek to know more of the new and not lose a "gene of concern."
