The meeting of the Academic Council of the Stavropol State Agrarian University summed up the calendar year and the rector V. I. Trukhachev started it with the words: "By all independent rating of RIA News we became the leaders among all agricultural universities of the country."
Then Vladimir Ivanovich talked about strategic points of growth of the University, recalled the main events of 2015: celebrating the 85th anniversary of the University, achievements of faculties, achievements of students in various academic forums and competitions; strengthening the material-technical base, the opening of the multimedia education unit, a multi-sport complex with all-weather sites and others. Turning to the objectives for the coming year, the rector announced the glad tidings of the final stage of commissioning the building of a new 11-storey student hostel, which created the most comfortable conditions of life for modern youth. Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev noted that in our region the analogue of this new building there is no campus.
Continued the meeting with a solemn moment of awarding the title of Honorary Professor of the Stavropol State Agrarian University to the graduate of Plant Protection Faculty of 1971, the head of the Izobilnensky municipal district, the hero of labor of Stavropol, Director of the open joint-stock company "Stavropolsakhar" Andrei Aleksandrovich Churikov.
On the eve of the New Year 49 lecturers of the University were awarded with honorary certificates and diplomas of the Duma of Stavropol Region, the Regional Ministry of Education of administration of Stavropol, as well as commendations from Federal Agencies and industry bodies.
At the end of the meeting of the Academic Council, the rector of the University Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev thanked all the divisions of the University and staff of the University for the work in 2015 and wished everyone a Happy New Year, health, success in all good endeavors.
