Metropolitan Kirill handed over to the Rector of SSAU V.I. Trukhachev letter of gratitude and thanked the choristers of Agrarian University for a beautiful celebration of sacred music.

Church singing art for centuries has been very close Russian man. Orthodox prayers were sung not only in churches and monasteries, but also in the household. In the XVIII century Russian music culture has undergone great changes, to adopt a new style and a new musical-choral form. One of the genres, a relatively new form, but naturally fit into the Orthodox cultural tradition, was the spiritual concert. It is a genre of spiritual concert associated with the names of famous Russian composers: D.S. Bortniansky, M.S. Berezovsky, A.L. Vedel and others.
