14.03.2016

At the regular meeting of the university literary club "World around the words" a contest of poems and masters of artistic expression took place.

Jury members: Head of the educational work department T. Gunko, director of the Scientific Library of SSAU M. Obnovlenskaya, Acting Head of the Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication Department E. Zorina and a guest from Germany - Head of Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Hohenheim – assessed poems written by students-members of the literary club, as well as the poems performance of famous poets of XIX-XX centuries.

The guys recited poems with feeling, with deep emotional immersion. There were original works of Ilya Cherniy (1st year, Faculty of Economics), Svetlana Dolgopolova (4th year, Faculty of Economics), Anna Barsukova (1st year, Faculty of socio-cultural service and tourism), Vladislav Nachikov (2nd year, Faculty of Electric Power) as well as poems of Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Alexander Pushkin, Edward Asadov, Sasha Cherniy, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Rasul Gamzatov.

"Poetry is a stream of joy, pain, astonishment, and a little bit of words from the dictionary," - said one of the classics. It was impossible to disagree when the Winter Garden of the University, which was a place for the club meeting, became filled with poetic verses being read by students. Poetry has an amazing property: it returns the word its original freshness. The most worn until the end "said" our words, as Konstantin Paustovsky believed, words, lost their imaginative qualities for us, living only as a verbal shell, in the poetry begin to sparkle, ring, fume!

Summing up the results of the competition, a jury member M. Obnovlenskaya thanked the guys for a wonderful evening, noting the talented performances of all its participants.

Diploma of winner for the best author's poem was given to Svetlana Dolgopolova (4th year, Faculty of Economics) for the poem "Father", and the best reader was Anna Pirogova (1st year, Faculty of Economics), she read the "Letter to a Woman" by Sergei Yesenin in such a way, that club members almost unanimously awarded her the victory.
