Footballers of the SSAU will defend the honor of the Stavropol Territory in Moscow in the final of the project "Mini-football to the universities"

In Astrakhan, the second stage of the All-Russian project "Mini-football to the universities» finished. The students’ team of the SSAU has won a decisive victory over the champions of the last year - players of the SFU from Rostov-on-Don.

The final match between the SSAU and the SFU was very unpredictable: regular time ended in a draw, and only a series of penalties defined the winner - the team of our university. The boys won with a score of 5: 4.

Only 12 strongest teams from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District reached the second stage of the All-Russian project "Mini-football to the universities”. On the way to the final game of our players had to beat the hosts of the tournament - the team of the Astrakhan State Technical University (3: 1), players of Gorsky State Agrarian University of Vladikavkaz (score 1: 0). In the last game in the subgroup the SSAU team played a draw with the guys from Dagestan GAU (score 1: 1). In the semifinals, our players defeated the team t of the Crimean FU (Sevastopol), scoring 10 goals and conceding only two.

The best player of the tournament in Astrakhan was voted footballer of the SSAU team Arsene Afashagov.
An innovative project "Mini-football to the universities" is one of the most popular and effective forms of mass physical education of students. In the SSAU students love mini football and know how to play it, as it was shown at the regional stage of the project. Now our guys will defend the honor of the university and the Stavropol Territory in the final, which will be held in Moscow in May 2016. Under the guidance of coaches: Sergei Pirozhkov and Vyacheslav Mozgovoy, the guys started to train. They are going to take part in an honest and uncompromising struggle of the all-Russian final of the "Mini-football to the universities," and we wish our team new victories.
