SSAU students took part in the opening of the Alley of the Hero Cities on the Fortress Hill in Stavropol

Students of Accounting and Finance Faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University today, May 6, 2016 took part in the opening of the Alley of the hero cities at the memorial "Eternal Glory" on the Fortress Hill in Stavropol.

The ceremony was dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the Victory over fascism, was opened by the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov.

"The regional capital is the city of military traditions. It survived the war and the occupation, was released and restored, thanks to the dedication and courage of our countrymen. This makes Stavropol worthy of Fame of hero-cities. "

On Alley of hero-cities are located 12 slabs of black marble with gold, beaten out names of 12 cities-heroes. These are: Moscow, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Kiev, Minsk, Odessa, Sevastopol, Stalingrad (Volgograd), Kerch, Novorossiisk, Tula, Murmansk, Smolensk, Brest. Capsules with earth brought from these cities now buried under them and these cities had the greatest resistance to the Nazi invaders in 1941-1945.

The capsules with the ground, watered by the blood of the defenders of the Motherland, were specially brought to Stavropol due to the efforts of the pupils of the Cadet school named after General A.P. Yermolov, Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Diocese, the party "United Russia", the Chairman of the Stavropol branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, Sergey Parshin, athletes and ordinary citizens.

Alley of hero cities has become a new symbol of the memory of the war for the citizens and visitors of Stavropol.
