Satellite observations brought victory to the 1st course graduate student of Faculty of Agronomy at All-Russian contest

Master of 1st course of Agronomy Faculty Malochkin Vladimir Yurevich with the report "Inventory as the basis for creation a single database of agricultural land" (supervisor - Head of the Department of Land Management and Cadastre, associate professor Loshakov Alexandr Viktorovich) took second place at the All-Russian competition for the best scientific work among students, graduate students and young scientists of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Graduate student of SSAU proposed to conduct an inventory of agricultural land in a combined way and combine ground survey areas with high-precision GPS / GLONASS equipment with remote sensing using aerial and satellite imagery.

This method with university forces has already been introduced in a number of municipalities and agricultural enterprises of Stavropol Territory. It allows more accurately and less expensively to conduct an inventory of land, the suitability of each site according to the inventory.

Work of Malochkin ran in the "Land Management and Cadastre" nomination and has been praised in the final of All-Russian contest, which was held in May 17, 2016 in Belgorod State Agricultural University named after V.Y. Gorin.
