Modern control technology dairy herd - in the training program for the students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University

At the faculty of veterinary medicine and technology management held a public lecture professor of private animal husbandry, selection and breeding, doctor of agricultural sciences Oleynik Sergey Alexandrovich about current trends in the development of dairy farming with the manager category "Farm Management Systems" of the company DeLaval (Sweden) Sergei Volkov, specially came to our university from the central office of the company located in the town Korolev near Moscow.

Students and teachers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest technological developments of the world-famous company DeLaval, which is recognized as a leader in the production of milking equipment and instrument systems for dairy cattle. Of particular interest was instrumental herd management system Herd Navigator, which includes the definition of the hormonal and enzymatic status of the animal and enables timely identification of animals for insemination, as well as prevent the development of diseases of the udder mastitis. For consideration of teachers and students was also presented with a unique system of automated determination of fatness BCS, whereby on a farm in the on-line control and correction performed diets of lactating cows. The introduction of these systems brings economic benefits to farmers of about 21 thousand. Rubles per one cow per year. The individual elements of this system were first implemented in our region in Agricultural Production Cooperative farm-breeding plant "Kazminsky" of Kochubeevsky district.

Also, a new computer lab located at the Department of Private animal husbandry, specialists of the company DeLaval has installed the latest computer software for dairy herd management - DelPro, version 5.1, through which animal science students received the opportunity to study with almost all major software products, used in dairy farming in Russia. Recall that earlier similar program products company GEA (Germany) have been installed in the computer lab.
