Tourism industry in the South of Russia: growth points

II Southern Tourism Forum, held on 12 October on the basis of SSAU, held discussions on new trends and tendencies of development of tourism in the North Caucasus region.

The event was organized by the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Southern guild of bakers, confectioners, hospitality industry with the support of the Government of Stavropol Territory, JSC "Resorts of the North Caucasus", Association of organizations and experts in the development of social tourism, the Alliance of hoteliers of Russia, "Women of business" Ltd.

The forum was attended by about 250 representatives of executive and legislative authorities, the tourism industry, the hospitality, cultural institutions, scientific and business community, non-governmental organizations, federal and regional media, as well as foreign experts from countries with high tourist attendance - Hungary, Croatia, Uzbekistan.

The forum was opened by the president of "YUGPIK", Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Irina Lyakisheva. At the plenary session with the wishes of an interesting future dialogue the audience was welcomed by the Minister of Stavropol Territory Tatiana Likhacheva who thanked the leadership of the Agrarian University represented by the Rector Vladimir Trukhachev for cooperation productivity.

The uniqueness of the region's tourist heritage of the North Caucasian Federal District, the need to find points of growth in the development of the sector taking into account modern realities was further pointed out by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Stavropol Territory Oleg Yurchenko, Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development, property, investment, and tourism resorts of the regional Duma Valery Nazarenko. Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Saratov area Svetlana Undrova told about the sights of her region and her strong desire to learn from the experience of rural tourism in Stavropol region. During the forum, there was Internet connection with the vice-president of the Association of enterprises, organizations and experts in the development of social tourism Denis Zaitsev (Moscow) who focused on the tourist products for children and older people. The readiness to cooperate in support of eco-tourism was announced by Acting Head of the branch "North-Caucasian regional management" (Stavropol) of "Moscow Industrial Bank" Svetlana Kozlova. Leading specialist of JSC "Resorts of the North Caucasus" Andrei Klimenko told about provision of tourist services of the highest international standards reminding participants about the good news - Stavropol regained its status as the most comfortable city in Russia! A high spiritual flight was given to II Southern tourist forum the father superior of the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord Vladimir Safonov. The Director of Regency school of Stavropol seminary who illustrated his report with images of great paintings by Russian artists considered pilgrim tourism in the country a real way of acquiring the love of native land.

Later the big conversation was joined by numerous other participants, which once again confirmed: the trend in the tourism industry is an open dialogue through multilateral cooperation to form a new unique, quality product, based on European standards.

The work of the plenary session was continued in two expert discussion platforms "Tourism and its role in the economic development of the South of Russia" and "Training as a condition for improving the quality of tourism services" (with the direct participation of the Faculty of Social Service and Tourism of Stavropol State Agrarian University). There was also a training course at the School of Tourism YUGPIK revealing the secrets of the tourist industry to both tourists and professionals. The day ended with an excursion program "My dear province."
