Strategic partnership is an important factor in innovation

The traditional forum "Field Academy" was held in Stavropol State Agrarian University in cooperation with the long-standing strategic partner "BayerCropScience".

The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Associate Professor Vitaly Y. Morozov. On behalf of the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev he welcomed all the participants. Presentations were also made by the head of the department of plant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of Stavropol Territory Elena A. Tambovtseva and Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture professor of RAS Alexander N. Esaulko.

"Field Academy" has been around for 6 years. For farmers, professionals, scientists and students, distributors and partners it is a good source of information revealing the role of modern crop protection products in the agro-technologies. It is attended by members of the department of chemistry and protection of plants of Stavropol State Agrarian University, graduate students, students studying the program "Agronomy" (Profile - "Plant Protection").

Leading experts talked about innovative approaches that exist to protect the crops from the complex of harmful organisms, methodology for the application of plant protection products on the weeds in modern technologies of cultivation of maize, improvement of assortment of sunflower and corn hybrids. Much attention was paid to the development of a comprehensive system of protection of vegetable and industrial crops, especially their application regulations.

The discussion was attended by the Head of the Department of Chemistry and Plant Protection, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Anna Petrovna Shutko.

In summary, the participants and the guests noted the importance of these activities - they allow to discuss topical issues of crop growing, to enhance knowledge in the field of plant protection. The key results of the cooperation of Stavropol State Agrarian University and "Bayer" Ltd is scientific research in the field of assessing the biological effectiveness of plant protection chemicals.
