Career development in finance

Manager of treasury of multicorporate enterprise DANON in Russia shared the secrets of making successful business with students of Agrarian University.

Especially for students of Stavropol State Agrarian University, who want to learn how to build a career in finance, a series of master classes was held by Manager of treasury of multicorporate enterprise DANON in Russia, PhD, MBA Elena Burykh (Moscow).

The first master-class from the "pro" was on the theme "Effective Negotiations". To begin with, third-year and fourth-year students of Accounting and Finance Faculty direction of "Economics" (profile «Finance and Credit") passed the MBTI-test to find out how to find common language with different types of people in the business. Two business games "Card Corporation" and "Solar oranges" were very interesting to the audience. The participants discussed technology of management effectiveness, learnt the rules and methods of business negotiation and management techniques. Students receive specific advice on the practical application of business communications.

The next Master Class "A short course of post-graduate life," introduced the 4th year students of two departments - Accounting and Finance (profiles, "Finance and Credit", "Accounting, Analysis and Audit" and "Tax") and Socio-Cultural Service and Tourism (profile "Service of Hotel and Restaurant, Tourist, Sports and Entertainment Complexes") – to the concept of developing a road map to enhance their own effectiveness.

According to E.S. Burykh, students should think about the place of their future work in the first year of study. Therefore experienced manager of a large company gave practical advice on how to pass an interview and get the desired position; she highlighted what the employer expects from the applicant. Topical issue "World Corporation or your own business?" was also discussed; in the answer to that question Elena brought the pros and cons of working in corporations and in the format of running your own business. Students learned about the examples of interesting business ideas around the world, they heard the story of MBA study program in London from first hand.
