Development of modern e-commerce

The open lecture in English for the students of Faculty of Economics and foreign students of the Preparatory Department of Institute for Further Professional Education was read by Irina Vladimirovna Samoylenko, Assistant Professor of Information Systems Department.

Students who studied at the Stavropol State Agrarian University in the areas of Business Informatics, Management, Information Systems and Technologies attended the lecture "Development of modern E-commerce". The teachers of the department of foreign languages, as well as students from the countries of the Middle East, showed interest in this topic, and they improve their Russian language in the classrooms of the Stavropol State Agrarian University for the purpose of further education in Russian universities.

With an opening speech, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Olga Nikolaevna Kusakina addressed the audience. She spoke about the peculiarities of training at Agrarian University, the directions of preparation at the Faculty of Economics, the diversity of social life at the university and wished the young people success in further professional development.

I.V. Samoylenko began her lecture from the stages of development of e-commerce, which became an integral part of the life of modern society. The lecturer noted that the history of e-commerce has only about two decades of intensive development, which in comparison with the history of other branches of the economy seems to be an insignificant period of time. The first systems and methods of electronic commerce are due to the birth of technologies for automating the sale of air tickets, banking operations, plastic cards and the construction of automated systems for managing the resources of enterprises.

During the lecture, Irina Vladimirovna paid attention to the areas of e-commerce, the types of commercial relationships among e-business participants, the advantages and disadvantages of using electronic payments for users, enterprises and the society as a whole. The students took an active part in the conversation, gave their comments, and addressed the lecturer with the questions they were interested in.

Fluency in foreign languages today is an important component for professionals in all fields of activity, including economic and information directions. Such events allow Russian and foreign students not only to improve their own knowledge, but also to expand communication skills and intercultural interaction.
