SSAU students are the winners of the Open Regional Championship "Young Professionals"

In the Stavropol Territory, the Open Regional Championship "Young Professionals" (Worldskills Russia) was completed. Competitions were held in the period from 1 to 3 March in three cities - Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, Nevinnomyssk with 18 competencies. The ongoing competitions are a joint project of two regional ministries: the Ministry of Economic Development of the ST and the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the ST. They make it possible to raise the level of skill of young professionals (under the age of 22), to make them competitive in the labor market not only of Stavropol, but of all Russia, and also on a global scale.

115 students of professional educational organizations and educational organizations of higher education from all subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District and 170 experts took part in the regional Championship "Young Professionals". The winners of WorldSkills Russia in the region under the competences "Prototyping" and "Hotel Administration" were students of Stavropol State Agrarian University Korolevsky Maxim (Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization) and Anastasia Belmasova (Hospitality and Tourism Faculty). At specialized regional venues, using their knowledge and skills, they in fact proved how a young Russian professional should be.

However, today's leaders will not have to relax, ahead they have another serious test - participation in the qualifying tournament, and then with a positive result, the opportunity to represent the Stavropol Territory in the finals - at the All-Russia WorldSkills Russia 2017 in Krasnodar. The WorldSkills movement is aimed at increasing the prestige of workers' professions and skills of employees, attracting young people to the productive sectors of the economy, and improving the qualification standards for working professions and vocational education specialties, taking into account national and international requirements for professional competencies.

The first All-Russian contest of working professions WorldSkills Russia was held in 2013 in Togliatti. The Stavropol Territory entered the WorldSkills Russia movement in 2014.

Once every two years the world championship of working professions of WorldSkills is held - the Olympics for workers' hands. In 2017 the 44th World Championship WorldSkills Competition - 2017 will be held in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), in 2019 - in Russia (Kazan).
