Participation of teachers SSAU in a round table to improve the environmental situation in Kislovodsk

Julia Alexandrovna Mandra, associate professor of the Chair of Ecology and Landscape Construction, has reported on the role of green plantations in the provision of a favorable ecological situation in Kislovodsk.

The round table "Social and Ecological Challenges for the Development of the Urban Environment of the Kislovodsk Resort" was held at the initiative of the Kislovodsk City Branch of the Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation. It was attended by experts from the regional and municipal levels who decided to join efforts to urgently develop effective measures and rules aimed at addressing key environmental problems.

The main objectives of the event were: the creation of an objective information field in matters of the policy of improving the green zones of the resort city of Kislovodsk, the formation of a mechanism for interaction between public organizations, city structures and the local government; сreation of conditions for dialogue of participants of civil communities on education of ecological culture of townspeople.

Aleksey Alekseevich Nikulin, a member of the presidium of the independent Environmental Council, introduced key environmental problems of Kislovodsk and ways of solving them from the position of the city public.

Yulia Mandra, associate professor of the Department of Ecology and Landscape Construction, Candidate of Biological Sciences spoke about the role of green plantations in providing a favorable ecological situation in the resort town of Kislovodsk. The senior lecturer noted that the works on landscaping and improvement should be based on industry normative legal documents, but in addition, it is necessary to take into account the natural and architectural features that have developed in the resort. Also, Yulia Aleksandrovna voiced the need to apply the principle of scientificity in gardening.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory Tatyana Semyonovna Kovaleva noted that the problem of the preservation of urban forests is more acute than ever. She noted the shortcomings in the work of the cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters in the implementation of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation. This year, 6 hectares of forest will be planted in the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The forestry fund is exhausted; therefore forest lands will be created on the lands of the forest fund for the next 10 years annually for 6 hectares.

Deputy of Stavropol inter-district environmental prosecutor Mikhail Kalmykov raised the issue of cutting down green plantations, which until now remains open.

Yelena Leonidovna Makeeva, the head of the ecological department of the administration of the resort city of Kislovodsk, told that in the Year of Ecology a comprehensive plan of measures for gardening the areas of urban forests was developed. The work has already begun. In the presentation, slides with landscaping plots in Kislovodsk, landing schemes, etc. were presented. 2000 green plantations will be planted this spring.

The chairman of the Public Environmental City Inna Germanovna Zekeeva focused attention of the participants of the discussion on the lack of an ecological culture, which must be instilled with her own example of a careful attitude to nature in early childhood. Alexander Vasilyevich Perevedentsev, deputy chief of police for the protection of public order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kislovodsk, spoke about the role of law enforcement agencies in the work to prevent unauthorized landfills and the interaction of law enforcement agencies and civil communities. The regional coordinator of the project of the executive committee of the regional headquarters of the ONF in the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Ivanovich Kozhevnikov, reported on the screaming problem of waste disposal and informed about the launch of the "General Cleaning" project, which is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of public control over the environmental state of the environment.

During the round table, specific measures were proposed to improve the environmental situation in Kislovodsk. Thus, suggestions have been made for the croplanding of trees; the formation of an environmental culture of citizens; the need to post information in the media; the placement of social advertising on the effects of environmental pollution on information stands with telephones of supervisory authorities. A separate conclusion was a proposal to introduce a legislative initiative to increase penalties for placing waste in an unauthorized place; accelerate the introduction of a comprehensive information system of the city scale "Safe City".
