Priorities for the development of dairy cattle breeding in Russia

Developments of scientists of Stavropol SAU will be taken into account to improve the management of breeding work of domestic livestock.

On March 14-15, the all-Russian conference "2017 - the year of development of pedigree livestock breeding in Russia" organized by the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation was held at the All-Russian Research Institute of Pedigree Crop (Lesnye Polyany, Pushkin District, Moscow Region).

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dzhambulat Khizirovich Khatuov; Director of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Kharon Amerkhanov; Director of the FGBNU VNIIGRZH, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Vladimirovich Plemyashev; Management of the VNIIPlem, VIZH, VNIIGR; Heads and specialists of the relevant subdivisions of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Russian breeding services and enterprises, as well as companies - JSC "GCV", LLC "Plinor", LLC "My Gene".

During the two-day meeting, its participants determined the main priorities in the development of pedigree dairy cattle breeding in Russia, ensuring import substitution in this industry.

Opening the meeting, First Deputy of Agriculture Minister D. Kh. Khatuov noted that increasing the effectiveness of state support measures in all sectors of the agroindustrial complex, including livestock breeding, will lead to serious results in production. But the priority of support will be the development of fundamental and applied science, the active use of available reserves and technologies. Among the main tasks of the current year, Dzhambulat Khizirovich called the formation of a competitive dairy industry based on the realization of genetic potential. At the same time, the First Deputy Minister made a special emphasis on the need to provide agricultural producers with highly productive breeding youngsters of domestic breeding, for which it is important to strengthen joint work with the scientific community.

From Stavropol GAU at the meeting the professor of the department of private zootechny, breeding and breeding of animals, doctor of agricultural sciences Sergey Aleksandrovich Oleinik made a speech. In his report on "Accounting for milk productivity of cows and evaluation of milk quality in accordance with the recommendations of the International Committee for Registration of Animals (ICAR)", he presented the results of analytical and monitoring studies on the study of modern effective and advanced herd management systems in dairy cattle breeding in the most developed countries of the world, Which are part of the ICAR system. The participants of the meeting were also acquainted with the regional management system of highly productive genetic resources developed in the dairy cattle breeding developed under the guidance of the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev.

The meeting discussed issues of improving legislation in the sphere of circulation of pedigree products, evaluation of the breeding value of bulls-producers, certification of bioproducts used in the reproduction of the herd. As a result of the discussion, proposals were formulated on the development of pedigree livestock breeding.

So, the chairman of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on agro-industrial complex and development of rural territories Evgenia Yurievna Uvarkina, participating in the event, offered to use the developments of the scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University when preparing proposals for improving the conduct of breeding work in the Russian Federation. Director of VNIIPlem, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ivan Mikhailovich Dunin, a proposal was made to establish creative scientific contacts with the Stavropol State Automobile Inspection in the field of adaptation of the normative and information base of the pedigree livestock breeding of the Russian Federation to the international requirements of ICAR. In her closing speech, Galina Fatykhovna Safina, deputy director of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Positively appreciated the interaction of scientists from SSAU with the tribal services of the Stavropol Territory.

The possibility of practical implementation of these initiatives, the director of the Department of Animal Breeding and Breeding, Kharon Adievich Amerkhanov, suggested to consider within the framework of the Road Map of Livestock Breeding for 2017-2018. Currently, its project is being developed by the profile department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
