Victory, diplomas, gifts!

Students of the Faculty of accounting and finance of the Stavropol State Agrarian University distinguished themselves by participating in All-Russian Contest "Equity market".

Fourth-year students of the Faculty of finance and accounting Victoria Arzamastseva, Artem Babadzhanov, Olga Vorsina, Daria Dadkova, Alexandra Eremina supervised by the professors of the Department of Finance, Credit and Insurance Alexander Gladilin and Alexander Smagin took part in the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad "Equity market".

The contest took place in North Caucasus Federal University on April 7 and was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, PJSC "Moscow Stock Exchange", JSC IC "Zerich Capital Management" (Moscow). There were 292 participants from 44 Russian universities. Among them were Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Service (Moscow), St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics named after N.I. Lobachevsky, Ulyanovsk State Technical University, Ulyanovsk State University, Voronezh State University named after Emperor Peter I, South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk).

The first virtual contest was held on February 10, 2017, and the task was to forecast the value of the MICEX index for closing the trading session and prices of the latest deals with common shares of PJSC "Sberbank of Russia", PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel and PJSC Gazprom at PJSC "Moscow Exchange" for March 17, 2017. The second stage ("Testing") included test on the fundamentals of the "Equity market". The task of the 3rd stage ("Trading") was to trade in the simulator of electronic exchange trades - QUIK with the use of technical analysis tools the support of the specialists of the JSC IC "ZERICH Capital Management". This task was to be accomplished on-line.

40 participants with the highest score were selected after the first step, among hem were 5 participants from the SSAU.

The full-time stage of the Contest included three more steps. The first stage was practical problem solving and case analysis. The 2nd step was held in the form of analyst discussion. Participants were given tasks on technical analysis tools used in equity market.

The 3rd step was in the form of “Stock trading” workshop. For one hour participants had to trade stocks in simulation software on-line.

Alexandra Eremina, SSAU student, was awarded with certificate as the best Equity market trader. All participants were awarded with diplomas.
