Courage will not leave us

12.05.2017

At the Faculty of Economics passed a lesson of courage, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War over the fascist invaders.

72 years have passed since the Victory Day. The memory of this Great Day is not erased from our memory but becomes more acute, overgrown with new facts and knowledge.

Why are we trying so hard to preserve the memory of the war? Because the victory in this horribly long and difficult war has become a great unifying factor for our people. No country has been able to rally for such a massive and resolute rebuff to the enemy. And still there is such a tough information war on the revision of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

The aim of the Lessons of Courage, which is annually held at the Faculty of Economics, is the formation of patriotic education of student youth, the development of citizenship and respect for the heroes of the bloodiest war of the twentieth century.

The leaders of the meeting were Alyona Khomutova, the 3rd year-student of Management, and Maxim Sabotyrev, a freshman from the State and Municipal Administration. They reminded all those present of the tragic events of wartime, of a brutal battle with fascism, of the mass heroism of the Soviet people. They told us what losses the war brought to our university, how the war time of the fate of our students and teachers changed.

They remembered one of the participants in the Great Patriotic War - the teacher of the economic faculty Belozyorov Petr Anatolyevich. He was wounded, awarded with medals "For Courage", "For Victory over Germany", the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree. The guys read his poems about the Victory, and then all those present paid a minute of silence to those who died in the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War.

Marina Vasilievna Obnovlenskaya, director of the University's Scientific Library, continued the lesson of courage. Speaking to students and teachers with the report "The war does not have a woman's face" she told about the life and heroic deeds of women at the front and in the rear in wartime.

It was the Soviet Union that became the only country in the years of World War II, in which women took direct part in the fighting, because the scales of history were thrown: to be or not to be people, the country. But not only the colossal human losses during the war caused such participation, but also the incredible spiritual impulse of Soviet women who voluntarily went to the active army, persistently sought to be sent to the front. From 600 thousand to 1 million women in different periods fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. One of them was our countrywoman - the full knight of the Order of Glory, the legendary nurse Matryona Semyonovna Nazdracheva, who did not live 10 days before her 93rd birthday, having passed away in March 2017.

In honor of the fearless front-line soldiers and those who forged the Victory in the rear, patriotic songs of the war years were played during the whole event in the performance of the third year student of the direction "Management" Golovko Oksana and the student of the 1st course of the direction "State and municipal management" of Kaberda Maxim. Congratulatory poems about the heroic deed of the Soviet people were read by Pirogova Anna, a second-year student of the direction "Information Systems and Technologies". Also students of the economic faculty were prepared wall newspapers devoted to the Victory Day and courageous heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
