Russian taiboxer, multiple world and Europe champion, Artem Levin held master class in the sports complex of the university on May 29. He taught the technique and secrets of Thai boxing for more than 300 students.
- I am glad to see Artem today. Now we will see, also how he works. That's how we need to live and win, "said the rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Trukhachev.
Elena Bondarenko, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, took the initiative for the organization of the beautiful sports holiday. Elena Veniaminovna conveyed her admiration for the constantly upgrading material and technical base of the university, including sports facilities.
The training lasted for more than two hours. Artem demonstrated his famous struts and strikes, simultaneously telling how to launch an attack and bypass his opponent. After all, the main goal of the event was sports popularization, especially Thai boxing, among young people and promotion of healthy lifestyle.
Training was continued with press conference and students asked their numerous questions - both about Artem’s sports career and his personal life.
Nothing is impossible!
Artem told he has always been an active child. He was engaged in basketball, one of the most developing sports, and has gone in for boxing from 10.
- I do not regret anything. At the moment, everything that I have achieved is due to boxing, - admitted Artem Levin.
In general, Levin is an unusual sportsman and in some ways even paradoxical. Being an extraordinarily strong man he is not afraid to admit some kind of weakness - like tears of joy after a victory in Beijing. He wants to open a social school, also for children from orphanages:
- I do not know where exactly the first school will be, but this will not be a network. We will also consider proposals from Stavropol.
The athlete expressed his admiration for the university, saying that building looks like some famous architecture. Artem he has never been able to see regional universities, where everything is done so perfectly.
- I noticed that you have gyms where Olympic champions train. Your university made an impression on me, - he told SSAU students.
Sportsman wished them to train their will and character. "Nothing is impossible! Only dedication and diligence leads to success". And it's not just about winning. You just don’t need to forget that movement means Life!
