Conference on the international project SARUD in Astana

On July 2-6 the Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after S. Seifullin (Astana) hosted the 2nd Conference on the international project ERASMUS+ SARUD "Sustainable agriculture and development of rural areas".

The event was attended by representatives of nine agricultural universities of Russia (Stavropol State Agrarian University, Russian State Agrarian University named after K. A. Timiryazev, Omsk State Agrarian University, Michurinsk State Agrarian University, Buryat State agricultural Academy, Novosibirsk state Agrarian University, Yaroslavl State agrarian University, Samara State Agricultural Academy, Tambov State University named after G. R. Derzhavin), the three universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kostanay State University, Kazakh Agrotechnical University, Kokshetau State University). European universities were presented by scientists of the University Hohenhime (Germany), Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic) and University of Applied Sciences Nürtingen-Geislingen (Germany). In this event our University was represented by professor of Ecology and Landscape Architecture, candidate of Biological Sciences Yu. A. Mandra.

The participants of the conference discussed the new curriculum SARUD implemented in Russia and Kazakhstan; methodological approaches to the application of the Dublin descriptors at master's programs; the issues of organization of Advisory services in agriculture and advanced training of specialists of the agricultural sector.

During the meeting sessions of the training on student-oriented teaching methods; discussed the role of the partners-practitioners in the implementation of study program "Sustainable agriculture and rural development" in the educational process, as well as further inter-departmental and inter-University cooperation within the organization of mobility, training of teachers, conducting project weeks at universities-partners.

On the last day of the conference involved a visit to the unique agricultural enterprise "Rodina". Here the participants got acquainted with the result of the implementation of the principles of sustainable development of rural areas, have personally convinced of the possibility of interaction of economic, environmental and social aspects of the development of the agricultural sector.
