Intellectual Marathon in Informatics

In order to adapt to the conditions of the educational process during the two weeks of September, the teachers of the Department of Information Systems of the Faculty of Economics implemented a cycle of interactive laboratory classes for first-year students.

In the Intellectual Marathon for Informatics, students took part in the first course of eight training courses: Economics of Enterprises and Organizations, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Accounting, Analysis and Audit, Taxes and Taxation, and Finance and credit "," Electric power engineering and electrical engineering "," Agroengineering ". Associate professor Ermakova A.N. and senior teacher Bogdanova S.V. used the approach of dynamic assessment of the basic level to reveal the level of initial information knowledge and skills of first-year students.

The students studied in detail the peculiarities of the effective use of the site of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, shared with each other the skills of using information technologies to organize public statements about the results of the first scientific research, demonstrated elements of information and bibliographic culture in solving the simulated problems of future professional activity. The guys discussed the ergonomics of the computer workplace of an economist, computer operator, computer network administrator, electric power engineer, agroengineer, while they emphasized their safety requirements when operating modern hardware and information, computer and network technologies. Foreign students took active part in this process.

"Thus, the information marathon fulfilled its function as a primary cut-off for the training and quality of the entrance knowledge of first-year students," the instructors explain. - Thanks to such an interesting form of work for the children, we were able to determine the prospects for further education of each of our students. This will make it possible to more effectively formulate their core competencies, depending on the specific areas of bachelor's training at the Agrarian University.
