Field classes for students of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources, as well as veterinary medicine were held at Georgievsk company Interinvest, the state veterinary and sanitary examination laboratory of the city of Stavropol and Stavropol bio-factory.
Employees of the department of production and processing of food products from vegetable raw materials, led by the dean of the faculties of agrobiology and land resources and ecology and landscape architecture, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolayevich Esaulko organized field classes for third-year students, having visited one of the leading farms of Stavropol Territory.
LLC "Interinvest" is located in the village of Krasnokumskoye, Georgievsky district. The total area of the farm is 1300 hectares, 860 hectares of which are in intensive orchards of stone and pome fruits. Drip irrigation, provided for the entire area of fruit plantations, allows obtaining high yields, which makes Interinvest one of the leading farms in Stavropol. The organization employs more than 500 people, including agronomists - graduates of Stavropol State Agrarian University.
During the excursion around the garden for the students of Stavropol State Agrarian University, the specialists told about the technologies and schemes of planting fruit crops, touched upon the questions of irrigation, maturity and harvesting. The head of the enterprise Alexander Borisovich Buglak spoke about the technology of storing fruits in specialized storages. After the completion of the field session between the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources of SSAU and LLC "Interinvest", an agreement on scientific and creative cooperation was signed.
A practical lesson in production conditions, organized by the associate professor of the Department of Parasitology and Veterinary Expertise, Anatomy and Pathanatomy, Yulia Vasilievna Dyachenko, was held on the basis of the State Laboratory of Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise No. 3 in Stavropol for 4th year students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Having studied the structure and equipment of the laboratory, the students acquired practical skills in receiving and veterinary-sanitary inspection of the products of slaughter of large and small cattle, pigs in public markets. The laboratory staff familiarized them with the rules for the registration of veterinary accompanying documents in paper and electronic form using the “Mercury” system.
And the second-year students of the faculty of veterinary medicine actually had a chance to get acquainted with the technology of production of immunobiological preparations for veterinary medicine. An introductory practical lesson was held on the basis of a strategic partner - FKP "Stavropol biofactory", with which the agricultural university has had stable business ties for 20 years already. The students learned about the principles of the enterprise with highly organized production from the director of the bio-factory, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Viktor Ivanovich Zaerko.
The students saw firsthand the "clean rooms", where the equipment of the leading companies of Germany, the USA, Italy, Japan, which allows to ensure high quality of the produced products, is effectively used. As for the production itself, it is based on the most modern technologies and certified by European experts for compliance with GMP standards. More than half of the company's specialists are graduates of Stavropol State Agrarian University, including the director of the factory V. Zaerko, who graduated from the veterinary department in 1973. After passing the practice, direct participation of students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in technological processes, many of them return to the enterprise as full-time employees. In their arsenal by that time, in addition to the academic knowledge they receive at the Agrarian University, there are already concrete practical skills that indicate a high level of professional training.
According to the general opinion of the teachers of the Agrarian University, the practice-oriented approach in the educational process contributes to the formation of positive image of the chosen profession among students, allows them to "try on themselves" a concrete future work, accustoms them to feel free in the work collective, feeling their importance and competence.
