06.10.2017

Alexey Lagunov, Professor of the Philosophy Department of the NCFU, and Alexander Savvin, Moscow expert, representative of the Orthodox St. Tikhon Humanitarian University, met with the students of SSAU.

On October 2, at Stavropol State Agrarian University in conjunction with the Committee for Nationalities and Cossacks and a private institution for additional professional education “Diplomat” there was launched a project aimed at preventing religious extremism among young people.

About 300 students from Stavropol State Agrarian University attended the lecture on prevention of religious extremism in order to learn to distinguish pseudo- and quasi-religions from traditional confessions. They were helped by the lectures of the speakers, who described and explained what the essence of non-traditional religious associations is. The following topics were considered: "Non-traditional religious trends and causes of religious extremism", "Counter-propaganda of Islamic radicalism and extremism". The students were once again reminded of the danger of recruiting, promoting radical ideas in social networks and "preaching" in the streets.
