Marshal of Russian sheep breeding - 80!

His unique jubilee is met on October 12 by the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Hero of Socialist Labor, Honorary Citizen of Stavropol Territory and Apanasenkovya Vasily Andreevich Moroz.

Vasily Andreevich Moroz is not without reason called marshal of sheep breeding of our country, because as a publicly recognized specialist, a leading consultant on the most important issues of the industry, they are well known in many, even the most distant regions, and abroad. More than once he had a responsible mission to represent the Fatherland on the world sheep congresses in different parts of the world. Many selective achievements in the creation of new breeds of sheep and types are associated with his name.

The most active and direct participation Vasily Andreevich Moroz brought to the creation of five breeds of sheep, including three fine-fleeced ones - Manych merino, Dzhalginsky merino, Kulundin fine-wool, as well as West Siberian meat and six types - virgin, Manych, Steppe, Elbrus, Upper Steppe and Hangil type of Transbaikalian breed. And this is not the full contribution of the scientist to strengthening the breeding base of sheep breeding in Russia, for which he is sick with all his heart.

Love for the profession and alma mater - Stavropol Agrarian University - Vasily Andreevich carried through years of labor, struggle for justice, the eternal scientific search. He proved by his life example that a simple boy, striving for knowledge, is able to grow into an academician, the world-famous, most authoritative scholarly branch, that one can and must be faithful to his native country and devoted to the chosen cause.

Radiant smiles, a kind word, support and, of course, invaluable knowledge, the professor generously presents students, fellow zootechnicians, everyone who knows him for many years.
