On life values and moral guidelines: a spiritual conversation with young people

On October 18, the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate, Ph.D., Doctor of Theology, Vicar of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Bishop Luberetskiy Serafim, priest Alexei Solovyov and Head of the Department for Youth Affairs of the Stavropol Diocese, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences met with students of the Agrarian University, the priest Anthony Skrynnikov.

The Stavropol State Agrarian University has been interacting with the Russian Orthodox Church for many years in the issues of educating modern youth and acquiring the foundations of Orthodox culture. This time guests of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, whom the Rector Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, became well-known representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, who gladly shared with the students of secular high school the most important Christian postulates and wisdom of life.

So, the basis of the conversation of the Bishop of Luberetskiy Serafim was the theme of the family, the dangers of the globalization process taking place in society, life values ​​and moral guidelines, which at all times should remain unchanged for every person. During the lively conversation, questions of the principles of morality, freedom of choice of a person and personal responsibility were touched upon, and many others.

It is common knowledge, for example, as a bishop relates to modern youth slang and Russian culture. According to Bishop Seraphim, slang plays a negative role: "Because of it, young people lose the ability to own Russian literary language and express their thoughts on it. The newest means of communication, often, also do not help in this. Young people should speak among themselves in the cultural, classical, Russian language. We must not lose our face, our culture, an important component of which is our language! "

After the completion of an important spiritual conversation, the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev was asked to resume such important meetings with the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and continue the discussion of questions vital for students in the format of seminars and discussion platforms.
