Holiday in honor of Agrarians with a capital letter

The solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Departments of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Ecology and Landscape Architecture was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding scientist of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Georgy Romanovich Dorozhko, whose name is known to all agrarians of Stavropol.

Jubilee, worthy of respect

October 23, the day of the remarkable anniversary of the Honorary Worker of the agrarian and industrial complex of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor G. Dorozhko, the hall of the Academic Council of the Stavropol State Agrarian University was crowded. To honor the hero of the day with bouquets of various colors came his colleagues in the university, students, many graduates who became managers and chief specialists of the agricultural enterprises of the North Caucasus Federal District, representatives of the regional Ministry of Agriculture arrived.

The solemn event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Complex Security of the State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor I. Sklyarov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor V. Morozov, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of the University P. Khoryshko. On behalf of the rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev, an order was issued on the university about the endorsement of long-term conscientious work, a great personal contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists for the agro-industrial complex of the Stavropol Territory and in connection with the 80th anniversary of Georgiy Romanovich Dorozhko and a memorable welcome address was given.

As a matter of agrarian business, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, candidate of technical sciences Sergei Dmitrievich Ridnyi, considers G. Dorozhko.

"It is always pleasant for me to hear very warm words addressed to the entire faculty of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources from the active agronomists of the region, who in their majority are graduates of the Agrarian University," says the Deputy Minister. "But they are especially kind-hearted, they say with great gratitude about Georgii Romanovich, they think: they achieved a lot thanks to the fact that this wonderful research professor invested in them. And those who graduated from the graduate school under his leadership entered the elite of the agrarian and industrial complex of the region, for example, our Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Nikolaevich Sitnikov.

Performing an honorable mission, S. Ridnyi announced to those present about the award of G. Dorogko the title of "Honorary Worker of the Agroindustrial Complex of the Stavropol Territory".

On the life and creative path of Professor Georgiy Romanovich Dorozhko was further told by his student, now head of the department of general agriculture, plant breeding and breeding named after Professor F. Bobryshev of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Olga Ivanovna Vlasova. She noted that in 2017 two topical books came out from the pen of an extraordinary scientist, a well-known consultant of many farms of the region engaged in plant growing: the monograph "Technology of direct seeding of field crops" and "The course of lectures on agriculture" for students of agronomical specialties. In all, about 300 scientific works have been written by the author, and such manuals as "Fundamentals of Stavropol farming systems", anthropophyte album "Weed, Medicinal and Poisonous Plants" were recognized in the system of the country's higher school and awarded with the diploma "The Best Agricultural Training Book".

Georgi Romanovich established a large scientific school, under his leadership, prepared and defended 15 candidates and two doctors of science. Over the past few years, the scientist has been working on the development and introduction of technology for direct seeding of field crops in the economy of the Stavropol Territory. Based on the results of work carried out on the basis of LLC "Dobrovolnoye" Ipatovsky district, under his leadership the candidate dissertation is defended by Borodin D., at present he is an employee of the firm "Sengenta". Similar work is also actively carried out in LLC "Krasnoselskoye" in Grachovsky district.

Professor G. Dorozhko:

"The title of Agronomist for me above all!"

With congratulations in honor of the jubilee deans of faculties, collective of chairs and guests - colleagues, students acted. All of them are grateful to the professor for his deep penetration into the problems of the agrarian business and wished him further good spirits, and tried to return the warmth given to them all - a gift of his noble soul.

For deans of economics and accounting and finance faculties - Doctors of Science, Professors Olga Kusakina and Elena Kostyukova Georgy Dorozhko is a unique man of work, the highest intellect, who has been honoring the true shrines of mankind all his life. This is the love of the land, it is the bread that he can grow, the upbringing of the youth, who has been engaged for many years. And behind his visible calmness always lies the furious energy of an active scientist-practitioner and an excellent teacher. It was Georgy Romanovich, being the dean, heading the methodological council of the university in the past years, taught a lot to today's brilliant leaders and teachers.

Dean of two related faculties - agrobiology and land resources, ecology and landscape architecture, Professor Alexander Esaulko recalled a special moment for him - when, as a second-year student, he met his Teacher, who really opened for him the discipline "Chemical means of protection plants ".
