Bread festival in the South of Russia

Students and teachers of the Agrarian University took part in the round tables and master classes of the annual grand event.

November 9-11, representatives of the faculties of Stavropol State Agrarian University took part in the Bread Festival in the South of Russia, which gathered more than 1,500 people in the Aleksandrovsky business park of the regional capital this year. As always, a holiday that delighted visitors with fresh pastries and spectacular master classes was organized by the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners (ROSPiK) and the Southern Guild of Bakers, Confectioners, the Hospitality Industry (YUGPIK) with the support of the Government of Stavropol Territory.

The event, which has become a traditional platform for communication, discussion of actual problems of bakery and finding ways to solve them, brought together specialists from branch enterprises and masters of bakery from all over Russia. Here you could see the heads of bakeries, flour mills, confectionery enterprises, unions of consumer societies, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, raw materials, ingredients, representatives of the scientific community and public organizations.

Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Stavropol Territory Alexander Trukhachev, the President of the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners (ROSPiK) Yuri Katsnelson, who appreciated the local bread, arrived at the opening ceremony of the Bread Festival in the South of Russia.

During the plenary session "Bakery of the South of Russia: the state and prospects" leading experts of the industry and related fields discussed educational programs for modern bakers and issues related to the development of the industry in Russia. On the festival site, first-rate masters of bakery shared professional secrets and showed their skills. At the farmers' fair, visitors bought fresh produce directly from the producers.

The traditional participation in the forum was received by the staff and students of Stavropol State Agrarian University. Representatives of the Agrarian University were Head of the Department of Technology of Production and Processing of Agricultural Products, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor O.V. Sychev; Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor I.A. Trubina; Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor E.A. Skorbina with students of the Faculty of Technological Management; Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Service, Candidate of Economic Sciences K.Yu. Mikhailova; Technician A. A. Emelyanov; senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages N.Ya. Kozlovskaya with students of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Service and Tourism. They all participated in the round table "Rural tourism as driver of rural development in Russia" (the prospects of agrotourism in Russia as part of the international year of sustainable tourism), as well as in the School of YUGPIK: master classes in the preparation of bakery products "Bread is Health".

Employees of the Department of Production and Processing of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources and students of the 4th year of the training course "Food from Vegetable Raw Materials" attended the VIII Caucasian Bread Cup "Bread is the World" and the VII Caucasian Cup for Bakery among the Youth "Baker is a profession of the future", got acquainted with exhibition samples of bakery, flour-grinding and confectionery production.

The holiday of bread - 2017 was marked by a special richness and diversity of activities. The students showed great interest to the master-class "Healthy Bread", during which the master baker Benyahya Amjad Abdalah uncovered the secrets of obtaining the original French baguette, black country bread on leaven and black French bread. Participating in the work of the round table "Training of Bakers of the New Generation: A Modern View", the students of the State University of Civil Aviation have become convinced of the importance of the chosen profession and its relevance to the society.
