The XVIIIth Olympics of the teachers and staff of the Stavropol State Agrarian University continued the competitions in chess and the national press.

The results of the team championship are as follows: in the top three - the team of the faculties of veterinary medicine and technological management (the 1st place), the faculty of socio-cultural service and tourism (the 2nd) and the economic faculty ( the 3rd place). The faculties of mechanization of agriculture, electric power, accounting and finance, agrobiology and land resources were ranked 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th places respectively, following the results of chess battles.

Results among men (the 1st board): the 1st place - Alexander Simonov (FVMiTM), the 2nd - Vitaly Shemyakin (EEF), the 3rd - Stanislav Odintsov (FABiZR). Roman Tsigansky was in the lead on the 2nd board ( FVMiTM); the 2nd place - Sultan Kapov (FMSK); Vladimir Gerasimov (EF) - on the 3rd place.

According to the results of the women's chess competition, Karina Mikhailova (FSKSiT) won; on the second place - Elena Kits (the team of FVM and TM); the 3rd place - Lyudmila Korolkova (UFF).

Earlier, on the 19^th of January, 18 sportsmen from among the representatives of the faculty participated in the national bench press. Everyone had to work the bench press, lying on the bench, a bar equal to half its own weight, the maximum number of times.

In accordance with the team results, the economic faculty was recognized as the leading (1 st place - 141 points); Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization won the 2 nd place (123 points); with a minimum separation of the third place went to the Electric Power Department (121 points). Faculties of veterinary medicine and technological management - on the 4th place (105 points); on the 5th - Accounting and Finance Faculty (80 points); Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources - on the 6th (53 points); Faculty of Socio-cultural service and tourism took the 7th place (20 points).

In the individual competition, the top six were determined. Among them - the clear leader Yevgeny Rusanovsky (EF, 66 repetitions); further Evgeny Krivko (FMSK, 57 repetitions) and Sergey Dannikov (FVM and TM, 57 repetitions). With a small margin from rivals (55 reps), Dmitry Litvin (UFF) took the 4th place. Demonstrating 52 repetitions, Vladimir Samoylenko (EEF) came in 5th place and Maxim Turishchev (EF, 45 reps) on the 6th place.
