The future power engineer from Stavropol State Agrarian University won in the regional championship “Young professionals”

The knowledge, perseverance in achieving the goal and brilliantly shown professional skills helped to win the competence of “Electric Installation” a third-year student of the Electric Power Faculty of SSAU Georgy Digovtsov.

In Nevinnomyssk on 12-15 February, the regional championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) of the Stavropol Territory was held, where the team of the Electric Power Faculty of Stavropol State Agrarian University competed with competence 18 “Electric Installation”.

The team included a third-year student of the Electric Power Faculty of SSAU Digovtsov Georgy and a kompatriot (instructor), an Assistant Professor of the Electrical supply and maintenance department of electrical equipment Yastrebov Sergey Sergeevich. The chief expert of this competence was the head of the department “Electric power supply and operation of electrical equipment” of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Associate Professor Efanov Alexey Valerievich.

Competitive part of the prestigious championship of professionals was held on the site, organized by the Nevinnomyssk Power Engineering College. In total 18 educational institutions of the Stavropol Territory from Stavropol, Nevinnomyssk, Georgievsk and Budennovsk were represented in the competence of 18 “Electric Installation”.

The task, performed by the participants of the championship, consisted of three modules. While completing the 1^st module, it was necessary to choose equipment, wires and cables, to install cable management systems and switchboards. Module 2 offered to search for faults entered in the electrical installation by the jury members, mark them on the diagram, briefly and competently from the professional point of view to describe. In the third module it was required to create a program for controlling the illumination system of the “smart house” and the pumping station in accordance with the competitive task. To perform such a voluminous task, the contestant was given 19 hours, after which the jury determined the winner.

As a result of the competition, the winner was the student of the Electric Power Faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University Digovtsov Georgy. This great success and brilliantly demonstrated professional skills give him the opportunity to participate in the All-Russian qualifying stage of the National Championship, which will be held very soon - at the end of March 2018 in Moscow. Given the successful passage of the qualifying stage the student will be able to prove himself in the final of the National Championship, which will be held in August 2018 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
