Meeting "Features of the formation of the harvest of winter crops in 2018. Recommendations for caring for the winter field:
The first nitrogen fertilizing was held on February 16 on the basis of the leading regional research institute. At a key event, plant breeders of Stavropol gathered in the walls of the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agrarian Center under the auspices of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
Chairman of the Stavropol Territory Duma Committee on Agrarian and Land Issues, Environmental Management and Ecology Ivan Bogachev, Head of the Regional Agrarian Department Vladimir Sitnikov, Director of the North Caucasus FINC Valery Kulintsev, representatives of the scientific community, heads of the largest regional agricultural enterprises, heads of territorial agricultural administrations, scientists of the departments of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources of the Stavropol State Agrarian University.
In his opening speech, the Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Sitnikov stressed the importance of applying the latest technologies and new methods for managing agroproduction processes.
The dynamics of the state of winter cereal crops in 2017 was reported by the head of the Department of Plant Physiology of the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agricultural Center, Doctor of Biological Sciences Fedor Eroshenko, summarizing the good condition of winter crops. According to the scientist, the future harvest will depend on the conditions of the spring-summer period and timely implementation in full of all scientifically substantiated methods of cultivation. The assessment of the state of winter crops in 2018 on the basis of satellite monitoring was given by Sergei Bartalev, head of the laboratory of satellite monitoring of terrestrial ecosystems of the Institute of Space Research (Moscow).
According to the head of the branch of Russian Agricultural Center in Stavropol Region Vyacheslav Dridiger, reducing financial costs and yield growth will allow the transition from chemical to biological plant protection products.
Head of the Department of Soil Science in SSAU V. I. Tulpanov, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Valery Tskhovrebov devoted his speech to the problems arising in connection with the need for nitrogen fertilizing of winter crops, and suggested ways to solve them to improve their effectiveness. Professor emphasized the special importance of soil analysis before applying fertilizers, which, in addition to optimizing costs, will provide a balance of nutrients necessary for plants in the soil.
While summing up the productive meeting, Minister Vladimir Sitnikov emphasized that the North Caucasian has united practically the entire applied Stavropol agricultural science which significantly increases the potential of the agro-industrial complex of the region.
