IV All-Russian Week of Financial Literacy for Children and Youth of Stavropol Territory started on the site of the Agrarian University

On April 9, the best agrarian higher educational institution of Russia opened its doors for young natives of Stavropol - participants in the Finball Championship. Ahead of them await The most interesting events of the Week of financial literacy: from KVN and quests to meetings with leading financiers are in the future.

Many will be surprised by this name of the tournament, think about what Finball is and why it is? As you know, this year Russia will be the host of the World Cup for the first time. And this is an important event that cannot be ignored. Therefore, Finball was planned - financial and football biathlon. A new format of contests was invented especially for the All-Russian Week of Financial Literacy - 2018, held from 9 to 22 April. Students and teachers of the Accounting and Finance Faculty of the Stavropol State Agrarian University annually act as active participants of the Week.

This year the team intellectual quiz, in the format of the project of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation "Promoting the level of financial literacy of the population and the development of financial education in the Russian Federation", simultaneously started on the sites of Moscow, the Altai and Krasnodar Territories, the Arkhangelsk, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Saratov and Tomsk regions, The Republic of Tatarstan and, of course, the city of Stavropol.

Deputy Minister of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Suslov Yury Ivanovich took part in the opening ceremony of the Week on the basis of the SSAU. Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Taxpayers of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Stavropol Territory Marianna Y. Frolova; director of the training center of the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Galina Ivanovna Vasilyeva; regional coordinator of the regional program on financial literacy of the population Gerasimenko Nadezhda Ivanovna; attacking (role) of football teams of the Stavropol Territory and the Russian Federation Sergey Sergeevich Bovkun; Consultant of the training center of the Ministry of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Irina Kuzminichna Babich. Representatives of the Stavropol State Agrarian University are the Dean of the Accounting and Finance Faculty, Doctor of Economics, Professor Kostyukova Elena Ivanovna; Head of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, Doctor of Economics, Professor Sklyarova Yuliya Mikhailovna; Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Management and Banking, PhD in Economics, associate professor Lapina Elena Nikolaevna.

More than 50 children from the city Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk checked their financial knowledge and flashed erudition in the field of sports, showed their leadership qualities, because at the decisive moment the teams had to act clearly, quickly and together, as well as in football.

The tournament consisted of three stages: a quiz on financial literacy, a quiz on football and a contest of captains. After the end of the unusual competitions, the results of the game were summed up by students from the university volunteer unit "Financier" and experts. In anticipation of the results, the students exchanged the most vivid impressions, as the new format of financial battles was clearly in their taste.

Commenting on the results of the tournament, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Stavropol Territory Yury Ivanovich Suslov said:

- Adolescents and young people are the future active consumers of financial services. Already today, we must teach them to be sensitive to personal savings, choose the right bank and insurance products, be able to defend their consumer rights, understand the importance of creating a financial security cushion.

According to the experts, all the participants of the game, undoubtedly, showed brilliant results in financial and sports knowledge, and they were awarded with certificates and memorable gifts. But, as in any competition, winners were awarded with diplomas and commemorative prizes.

The week of financial literacy is already gaining momentum. It will be filled with a number of interesting events. A fascinating financial KVN and a creative contest of student theatrical variety miniatures are ahead. Pedestrian quests will be organized, an essay contest will be held, and it is worthwhile to attend open classes and lectures from leading financiers. The events will take place in different formats, but they will be united by a common task - to draw the attention of the students, teenagers and their parents to the need for reasonable financial behavior.
