On April 12, 2018 at the Agrobiology and Land Resources Faculty and Ecology and Landscape Architecture Faculty there was a plenary session of the scientific and practical conference "Modern resource-saving innovative technologies for cultivating crops in the North Caucasus Federal District."
During the greeting, the dean of Agrobiology and Land Resources Faculty and Ecology and Landscape Architecture Faculty, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolayevich Esaulko noted that this year's conference is being held at the University for the 83rd time and for this period of time good traditions has developed at the departments. One of such traditions is to dedicate an annual scientific and practical conference to iconic persons who worked at the university. This event is not an exception.
Thus, in 2018 there is the 85th anniversary of the birth of Viktor Makarovich Penchukov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor of the General and Ameliorative Agriculture Department of our University.
Thus, we remember our teachers and continue to honor those traditions that they laid down. We solemnly represent the anniversary portrait of Viktor Makarovich, who occupies an honorable place among the great scientists who worked at our University, at our faculties.
Professor of the General Agriculture, Plant Production and Breeding Department named after Professor F.I. Bobryshev, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Georgy Romanovich Dorozhko presented in his report the basic information about the life and scientific, creative and production achievements of Victor Makarovich Penchukov.
The head of the Department of Production and Processing of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials, PhD in agricultural sciences, Assistant Professor Elena Semenovna Romanenko presented a report on the life and work of Nikolai Mitrofanovich Kurennoy, honored scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of agricultural sciences, Professor, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who would have celebrated 95th birthday in March 2018.
In a welcome speech Dmitry Vladimirovich Ivanov, PhD, Assistant Professor, head of the Scientific and Innovation Training Center, said that it is very important when employees remember and honor their teachers, and this is contributes to the significant achievements of our scientists in various fields of science. One of such achievements is the victory of our university in the program of transformation of the Stavropol State Agrarian University into the University Center of Innovative and Technological Development of the Stavropol Territory. The Agrobiology and Land Resources Faculty and Ecology and Landscape Architecture Faculty occupy a significant place in it. Dmitry Vladimirovich wished the conference fruitful work and significant achievements to the scientists.

Such communication enables our scientists and students to be aware of the latest developments in various fields of activity.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, PhD in agricultural sciences Andrei Yurievich Oleinikov presented the report "Results of the work of the agro-industrial complex of the Stavropol Territory in 2017 and tasks for 2018".
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department for Environmental Analysis and Long-Term Programs and Plans of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory Andrei Anatolievich Korovin presented an analysis of the ecological status of the Stavropol Territory and ways to solve the problems of ensuring environmental security in the region.
Alexander Alexandrovich Kosyakov, Head of the Department of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Stavropol Territory and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, summed up the work of the Department of Frontier Phytosanitary Surveillance on the State Border of the Russian Federation and State Seed Control in the Stavropol Territory.
Vasily Vasilievich Khrapach, Deputy Director for scientific work of the Stavropol Botanical Garden named after V.V. Skripchinsky - a branch of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution "North Caucasus Federal Scientific Agrarian Center", made a report "Сreation of a forest-park green belt in Stavropol: tasks and solutions. The conference will continue with presentations by students and postgraduates, as well as faculty members who will present the results of their research. It is planned to publish two collections of articles based on the materials of the conference. The articles will be indexed in the Russian scientific citation system.
