Then the floor was given to the Minister of Agriculture of Stavropol Territory Vladimir Nikolayevich Sitnikov who noted the great contribution of regional scientists to the development of the national agroindustrial complex in his report "Agrarian Science as a Key Factor in the Development of the Agroindustrial Complex of the Stavropol Territory":

-Currently, the Governor Vladimir Vladimirov is providing tremendous support to the scientific contribution in the agricultural production of the Stavropol Territory. Only in 2018, the amount of funding for scientific development reached 80 million rubles, which gave an additional impetus to development in all major areas of the agro-industrial complex, - stressed Vladimir Sitnikov.

Stavropol scientists are authors of 16 breeds and hybrids of the silkworm, 10 breeds of sheep and goats, 6 factory lines of pigs and two types of cattle.

According to Vladimir Sitnikov, the guarantee of the development of the industry is the consistent agrarian policy of the federal center, sharpened by the development of existing production facilities and the implementation of new projects. All forms of state support are the key to growth. In the structure of the region's revenues, the share of the agro-industrial complex is already 12 billion rubles out of 58 billion rubles. This result is largely due to the joint fruitful work of agricultural producers with the scientific community of Stavropol.

There was a talk about the situation in livestock. As the minister noted, the key to success in this difficult matter is also the latest scientific developments and modern technological solutions that allow to reveal the genetic potential of animals. And those farms that use the scientific approach in their work are profitable for milk, wool, and meat. The introduction of advanced technologies allowed to increase poultry production more than 5 times over 10 years (from 55 thousand tons in 2006 to 297 thousand tons in 2017), pork meat 4 times (from 17 thousand tons in 2006 to 76 thousand tons in 2017). The productivity per 1 dairy cow has increased 2 times from 4155 kg in 2006 to 6520 kg in 2017.
