The bookmark of the State Commission for Testing Varieties of Spring Barley and Pea

On April 14-17, 2018, the State Commission for the testing of varieties of spring barley and peas was laid in the training and experimental farm of StGAU.

In the breakdown of the site and sowing took part: agronomist branch of FGBU "Gossorgkomissiya" in the Stavropol Territory O. Maznitsina, employees of the Department of General Agriculture, Plant Cultivation and Selection named after F.I. Bobrysheva: head of the department Vlasova O.I., associate professors Donets I.A., Golub A.S., Shabaldas O.G., agronomist of the experimental station Matveev A.G., as well as bachelors and masters of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources.

For the first time in the zone of moderate moistening, 13 new varieties of spring barley and 14 varieties of peas of the leading breeding centers of Russia will be tested. All new varieties will receive a comprehensive assessment of the set of economic and biological characteristics: yield, quality of produce, resistance to diseases and pests, suitability for mechanized harvesting. The test results will make it possible to select the most productive and valuable varieties for their zoning and introduction into production.

In the autumn of this year, it is planned to continue the variety testing of 60 varieties of winter wheat, which will allow creating a large variety fund of the initial material for the accelerated breeding process.
